Ohio Legislature Commends Positive Education Program

In September, both the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate formally recognized Positive Education Program in honor of its fiftieth year of service to the community. The commendations both acknowledged the impact PEP has had on the greater Cleveland community over the last 50 years and expressed that all of those involved with the program should be proud of their efforts.

Ohio Senate Commendation

On behalf of the members of the Senate of the 134th General Assembly of Ohio, we are pleased to pay special tribute to Positive Education Program for fifty years of exemplary service to Greater Cleveland residents.

Since its establishment in 1971, Positive Education Program has made many significant contributions to uplifting children with mental health and behavioral challenges, as well as to the families and the professionals who support them. Ohio General Assembly Commendation

Under the sponsorship of Representatives Terrence Upchurch, Phillip Robinson, Jr., Thomas F. Patton, Kent Smith, Janine Boyd, Juanita O. Brent, Michael J. Skindell, Bride Rose Sweeney, Jeffrey A. Crossman, Monique Smith

On behalf of the members of the House of Representatives of the 134th General Assembly of Ohio, we are pleased to commend the

POSITIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM

on the auspicious occasion of its Fiftieth Anniversary.

This is, indeed, an important event, and it provides an ideal time to acknowledge the exceptional work done by the Positive Education Program. Founded by Dr. Rico Pallotta in 1971, PEP has become a leading provider of support services for children with mental health issues and developmental challenges, and over the past five decades, it has expanded to include six day treatment centers, including the PEP Prentiss Autism Center, which offer multiple programming options. Its various initiatives benefit more than 2,500 children each year, and clearly, its impressive contributions to the community readily explain why it is so widely held in high esteem.

As they celebrate this important milestone, all those associated with the Positive Education Program have the unique opportunity to reflect with pride on the accomplishments of the past and look forward to a rewarding future. Indeed, they have convincingly demonstrated how very much can be accomplished by a group of conscientious people with clear objectives and firm resolve, and we applaud their tremendous efforts.

Thus, with sincere pleasure, we congratulate the Positive Education Program on its record of service and extend best wishes for continued success.
