PEP Parent Group Helps to Support the Whole Child

An child's hand rests in an adults hand

PEP Parent Group is an opportunity for caregivers of young people served by any PEP program to come together for a meal, fun and education. At PEP, our whole-child approach means we are not working in support of just the child; we are working in support of their entire ecology, from their home to their school to their community. Parent Group is one of PEP’s strategies aimed at supporting the whole child.

“Our parents are typically under a lot of stress,” explained Hallie Gustin, PEP’s ecological support manager. “When your child struggles with mental health challenges or developmental disabilities, there is a lot to navigate, both emotionally and logistically. Coming together with other parents who are facing the same challenges can be validating. It helps them understand that they’re not alone.”
